WHITE ROCK BUSINESS SUCCESS STORY

My name is Lorne Davidson and when I was 55 years old I realized the knowledge I had been training in for the previous six years was so important I decided to dedicate my life and career to it. If there was a way to improve your life, the lives of your family and enrich your community both mentally and physically while associating with people who are encouraging and supportive would you do it? Martial art is the key. What other art or activity can you share with your family while you grow, promote and develop together?
I am a 4 th degree black belt, certified instructor, and own the Seung-ri WTTU Black Belt Academy in White Rock B.C with my wife and son. We operated a family friendly martial arts academy with the focus on becoming "The Best That We Can Be." We are part of the American Taekwondo Association, one of the largert martial arts organizations in the world, with close to one million students world wide and growing.
I feel I am one of the luckiest men because I found something I can share until the day I am called home. I started this business at the age of 55 with 7 students, in September 2002. In March of 2004 we expanded into our present location with 25 students, a few thousand dollars, no business plan or line of credit but with a dream and a passion. Today we have 70 active students with many families training together and enriching their lives. We have a developing leadership team and have set a goal of 120 students by March of 2009. Our academy has been fortunate enough to have been recognized by our esteemed Grand Master Soon Ho Lee and this January 2008 I was honored to be nominated as Independent Businessman of the Year by the White Rock Chamber of Commerce.
